Lake Geneva
Only 30 minutes drive away from Morgins, lies lake Geneva. This beautiful lake, with its stunning views of white capped mountains, has many nice harbors and lake town boulevards. The town of le Bouveret is the centre of water sports in the area, where you can hire boats, go sailing, windsurfing and waterskiing, take a paddle steamer around the lake, or just enjoy the never crowded beaches. Afterwards, enjoy the lakes breathtaking views with a glass of wine and a nice French meal, in one of the many waterside restaurants. The town le Bouveret also offers a parapenting and hang-gliding centre.

Shopping and Culture
Lake Geneva is surrounded by world famous towns and cities. Geneva, Evian, Montreux, Thonon les Bains, Lausanne and Yvoire, are well worth visiting for the more culturally interested or shopping oriented amongst us. Even a trip to the lively Italian town Aosta is within reach.

Local Shopping, Markets and Thrills!
Just around the corner, only  5 km away in France, is the village of Chatel, which provides plenty of activity in the summer. Bustling with shops, restaurants and a Wednesday market with local produce (even fresh oysters!). For the same market in an even more picturesque environment visit Chappelle d’Abondance on Sunday (till 13.00 hrs)

For the thrill seeker there is the 'Fantasticable', a zip-wire that whisks you at 60 mph from one 1,000 metres mountain top to another. Also, there are the 'Devilcarts', go-karts that hurtle down the mountain piste after being taken up by the draglift.

Walking and Hiking
From a gentle stroll around the nearby lake and valley, to an overnight  track around  the “Dents du Midi”, in Morgins it all starts right at your doorstep. Several ski-lifts are open all summer to give you a head start. All trails are clearly marked, and you can make use of mountain huts for overnight stops.

Mountain Biking
Morgins is world renowned for mountain biking and has hosted the World Downhill Championship. Now that the ski lifts have been adapted to take bikes, there is a huge network of marked mountain downhill trails, which are thrilling to ride and offer stunning scenery. Bike hire is available in the village.

Swimming
The village has an outdoor pool. This has great facilities for kids, including a grassy play area, tennis courts, table tennis, a climbing wall and a restaurant.

​

Golf
There are several good golf courses nearby. Aigle is the closest, but you do not want to miss out on the world famous course of Crans sur Sierre (just over an hour away), or the beautiful hilly course in Villars.

​

Horse Riding
Riding is available in Morgins. Wonderful treks can be arranged with overnight stops in mountain hutts.

​

River Sports
River activities such as rafting, canyoning, canoeing are available on the River Dranse below Abondance in France.

​

Parapenting and Paragliding

Tandem rides or even solo lessons can be booked with a local guide.

​

Summer Skiing

Available at Les Diablerets.

​

Tree Top Adventures
This is a popular activity in Valais and involves zip-wires, trapezes and swings high up in the trees using safety harnesses. The closest is at Champoussin, 40 minutes' walk from the top of the chairlift or 20 minutes by car.
